Welcome!

Welcome to From FAT To Healthy!  I want to use this first post to introduce myself a bit and fill you in on what you can expect from me.

My name is Amanda. I’m a wife of 8 years and a mom to three beautiful kiddos; ages 7, 4, and 2. The Husband is a business man while I stay home with the kids (and try to keep my sanity). My oldest, Book Girl, is in 2nd grade at a charter school. My middle child, Zip Girl, is in preschool. And the baby is my son, Busy Boy.

After my kids were born (all by c-section) I never really did anything to “get my body back”. I just let nature take its course. On its own, my body has come to within 10 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight. I’ve never counted a calorie, and I’ve never worked out more than a day at a time. I’m not big, but I’m not thin either. And I definitely need to tone up.

That is where this blog comes in. It’s kinda my weight loss journey from here on out. I’ll be posting product reviews, inspirational quotes, recipes, links to great weight loss websites, etc. And of course I will be posting about my progress.

Some things I will not be posting.

ANYTHING about “diet” food. I don’t do “low carb/low fat/lite” foods. In fact I try not to do anything processed. I follow the clean eating plan. Don’t know what that is? Check out The Gracious Pantry and The Eat Clean Diet for more info. This really is a great way to eat. It’s all whole, natural, REAL, food. And healthy. I will be honest and say that I don’t stick to it 100%. I like chips too much for that! (ha!) but I stick to it as much as possible.

I also will not be posting about 2 hour long work outs, or 5k runs, or even 60 minute workouts. I’m a stay at home mom with 2 young kids here ALLLLLLL day long. If I tried to do more than a 30 minute workout (the time a kid show runs on tv) I would be setting myself up for failure.

So there you have it. A real, honest person talking about a real, honest diet and workout plan. I welcome you to come on my journey with me.
