Running the Couch to 5k with The Husband at the Softball Field

This new addiction that I have, working out, is becoming contagious. Last week The Husband decided to join me on this adventure.

Three evenings a week we load up the kids, and their bikes, and drive 5 blocks to the other side of town. (Yes, my town is about 5 blocks wide. And maybe 10 blocks long. With a population of about 800. Jealous?) The softball field has become our “running spot”. The kids play in the dirt part (what is that called? Where the bases are?) on their bikes while The Husband and I do Couch to 5k (C25K) around the entire field. The kids think it is great fun. They occasionally run/walk with us, and think it’s funny when they can catch us. This exercise thing is becoming a family thing. I think I like it.

For Fitness Friday today I want to share something that I found recently that I am completely in love with. Here’s the story.

I was doing the 30 Day Shred with Jillian and loving it. Then I pushed a bit too hard, and my shoulders got so sore I couldn’t lift my arms. So the Shred was out and I needed something else. Enter: Couch to 5k. Running. I forgot how much I love to run! I  did week 1 day 1, then went back to the Shred. I spent a week alternating back and forth, three days Shred and three days C25K, one rest day.  Then my knee started hurting.
