I don’t know about you, but I love teriyaki. I love it for stir fry. I love it for marinade. Sometimes I even mix a bit of it with cabbage and use it as a dressing (I know, I’m a bit odd). Imagine my horror when I started to clean up my eating and reached for my favorite bottle of teriyaki at the store. This is what I found in the ingredients:
Naturally brewed soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), wine, high fructose corn syrup, water, vinegar, salt, spices, onion powder, succinic acid, garlic powder, sodium benzoate: less than 1/10 of 1% as a preservative.
sigh. I moved to the next bottle, a new brand. Basically the same thing. High fructose corn syrup was high on the list. On to the next. HFCS was FIRST on the list. I checked every brand in the
Over the past few months I have learned that if you want to get anywhere in life you have to set specific goals. I can’t just say “I want to be healthy” and then eventually get there. I need specific things to work towards.
When I saw this photo on Pinterest it clicked. I’m not going to one day wake up and be healthy. I’m not going to have a specific time that I can cross it off my list. I have to have a bucket list of things that I can cross off. I’ve spent some time thinking about my health-journey bucket list. So it was time to come home from my parents house and the drive started right at snack time. In a very quick last ditch effort we stopped at the grocery store and grabbed the first thing we saw. It was already getting late and we just wanted to be home, we didn’t
Welcome to From FAT To Healthy! I want to use this first post to introduce myself a bit and fill you in on what you can expect from me.
My name is Amanda. I’m a wife of 8 years and a mom to three beautiful kiddos; ages 7, 4, and 2. The Husband is a business man while I stay home with the kids (and try to keep my sanity). My oldest, Book Girl, is in 2nd grade at a charter school. My middle child, Zip Girl, is in preschool. And the baby is my son, Busy Boy.
After my kids were born (all by c-section) I never really did anything to “get my body back”. I just let nature take its course. On its own, my body has come to within 10 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight. I’ve never counted a calorie, and
