I know this is supposed to be Fitness Friday, but like I said yesterday, this has been a hard week. I haven’t tried anything new this week, so I have nothing to review for you. I hope you are okay with that.
When I began this journey I knew that there would be hard days, and that I would need to push through them… I did not realize there would be hard weeks. I’ve learned something this week, though.
I am so capable. Even things I thought I couldn’t do. I can. When it is 9 pm and my eyes are heavy from my long day and my pillow is calling my name… I can still choose to workout. This happened not once, but twice this week. Remember when I said that I needed to work out right away in the morning or it wasn’t going to happen? Yeah. Not so true anymore. I’ve got this.
I’ve learned this week how important it is to have a support system. By that I don’t mean people who will pat you on the back and tell you that tomorrow is a new day… I mean people who will get in your face and tell you to get your butt moving. I have the best support system out there. Among a few other people, my friend Josette is always right there for me when I need her. And she always tells it like it is, firm, no sugar coating. I love that about her.
I have learned that if you push yourself, really push yourself, you will find results almost immediately. Remember a couple weeks ago when I talked about 30 day shred? I only did it for a week or so, and not all in a row. I added in POP Pilates and became a snotty mess with couch to 5k. I hadn’t done 30 Day Shred in a week, until yesterday. Remember when I said that I couldn’t do everything in it? And that I was so sore the next day I couldn’t move? Well… It was easy yesterday! I never got to the point that I couldn’t talk during the video. And today, I can barely feel it. In less than two weeks something that was too hard for me is now too easy. Talk about encouraging!
This thing that I’m doing, it’s changing me. It’s changing me physically, but also mentally. I’m becoming stronger and healthier, both inside and out. Even during a bad week, that is something I can stand on. And I’m so thankful for it.
